Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Patent Attorney to join our legal team. As a Patent Attorney, you will play a crucial role in protecting our intellectual property rights by drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patent searches and analyses, providing legal advice on patent matters, and assisting with patent litigation when necessary. You will work closely with inventors, researchers, and business stakeholders to identify and protect valuable inventions and technologies. As a patent attorney, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the patenting process and then acting on any infringements that might occur. This will involve a great deal of research and analysis of technical documents to determine whether the new design is innovative. Patents are granted by the Intellectual Property Office in the UK and can protect new inventions from being used or copied by other parties. Responsibilities: • Conduct patentability searches and analyze prior art to determine the novelty and patentability of inventions. • Draft, review, and prosecute patent applications before domestic and international patent offices. • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and technical experts to understand and document the invention details accurately. • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on patent matters to internal stakeholders. • Conduct patent infringement analysis and prepare opinions on the validity and enforceability of patents. • Assist in patent portfolio management, including conducting patent portfolio reviews and developing patent filing strategies. • Applying for patents from both the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO). • Monitor and evaluate potential patent infringements and enforce patent rights when necessary. • Collaborate with outside counsel and manage relationships with external patent attorneys. • Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to patents and intellectual property. • Support patent litigation efforts by providing technical expertise, conducting legal research, and assisting with document preparation. • Keeping up-to-date on any deadlines for patent renewal. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Patent Attorney, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department. • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to practice before Indian Patent Office (IPO) as a registered patent attorney. • Strong knowledge of patent laws, regulations, and procedures, both domestically and internationally. • Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a range of technical fields. • Ability to conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyze prior art effectively. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal and technical concepts clearly and concisely. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment. • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
